This space was known as the 'Grand Theatre' or simply 'Theatre', and was part of the ecosystem of virtual reality spaces for the "Gatherings" platform. Originally a precursor to the Amphitheatre, this space evolved into more of a 'Virtual Cinema', with a more modest capacity of 20 to 50 unique users, and redesigned for more informal and social events such as viewing parties.
This was a collaborative project between all members of the Mesmerise Art Team. I was closely invovled in the early concepting and design stages of this space, especially its architecture, as well as a lot of the eventual modelling, texturing, and implementation of the environment. I was responsible for the design and layout of the seating pod, and I also created the large back wall with the architectural features (barring the light strips). In addition, I also worked on the main screen, cushioning, as well as the light fixtures and some props. Credit for the final look and feel of environment as well as the rest of the work is shared with the rest of the art team.
